Why To Go To Mallorca

»Posted

If you’re going on vacation then a fantastic place to visit in Europe is the Mediterranean island of Mallorca. The largest of the Balearic Islands, Mallorca is known particularly for its beaches, with the gorgeous coastline having multiple places for you to enjoy, particularly if you love sun, sea and sand. However, holidays in Majorca offer far more than just beaches, and if you want a great range of experiences and landscapes on a large Mediterranean island, then Mallorca is the place to go.

Located off the east coast of Spain, Mallorca is a great alternative to mainland Spain. This will offer you the quintessential Spanish culture and cuisine whilst providing an extra indulgent atmosphere of being able to enjoy island life away from Barcelona, Alicante and similar Spanish hotspots. A great place to stay in Mallorca is in one of the resorts surrounding Palma de Mallorca, otherwise known as Palma. This is the main centre of the island and as such is a vibrant and thriving place to explore. Located on the south side of island Palma offers beautiful sunsets across its stunning bay and harbor, and with many tourists flocking to this region you’ll be able to socialize and enjoy the buzz that comes with this popular retreat.

Away from Palma there is a huge amount to enjoy on the island, including the wonderful and long stretches of glorious beaches. The majority of the best beaches are located on the east and north coasts, and whilst many have become swamped with resorts and over development you’ll be able to find some more secluded spots on the south coast. However, if what you want is a buzzing atmosphere with bars, beach parties and lots of people, then heading to Mallorca’s developed beaches will offer a great day out.

Away from the busy beach life, Mallorca also has some unexpected scenery in the form of the stunning Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. Here, amongst the rising hills you’ll find lush olive groves, a rugged coastline and towering pine forests which are the ideal place to explore, particularly if you like hiking.

There is something for everyone whatever you’re tastes in holidays, and if you want to vacation on Mallorca its worthwhile doing a little bit of research before you go, or when you reach your hotel. If you love nothing more than to shop and be around the buzz of other tourists then staying in Palma is ideal. You’ll be able to find a multitude of day trips and you can head to some of the islands top retreats to take part in activities. Meanwhile, if you prefer quieter days, then heading into Mallorca’s undiscovered territory is ideal and you’ll be able to spend days away from the thriving tourist population and explore a side of the island which is less than iconic. And if you truly want a destination with the Spanish culture but away from the vastly popular mainland, then Mallorca is the perfect place to go on vacation.
